Burning Men

Today I just want express my joy at the blessings that God has brought my way in recent day. For the first time in my christian life I feel like I am part of group of men who are pursuing after Jesus together. I emphasize together so this doesn't seem like I am speaking negatively of the men I've known in the past. I have known plenty of men who are mighty men of God.
I am writing this own a personal level. I have connected with a group more than I have in the past. I am finally involved in and excited about my men's ministry. Great thing are going to be accomplished for Christ though this ministry.
But I am most thankful for a couple of friends that I have bonded together with in a new way. Our hearts are burning to step up into the presence of God like we never have before. Together we will lead our families in prayer, in worship, and in service to Christ.
The scripture that says christians are not to be unequally yoked has always been presented to me as meaning that a christian should not marry a nonbeliever. While this is very true I now see it as more. Damon Thompson explained it as "run after Jesus as hard as you can, then look around and see who is running with you, that is someone you are equally yoked with." Thank God my wife is always right there with me, sometimes a little ahead maybe be we are always running together. Now I have 2 men who I also feel yoked with. They will know who they are when they read this.
They burn for Jesus. This makes me burn for Jesus. They keep me accountable. They are my brothers and I love them. If I want to run with them I have to run as hard as I can and I will not be left behind. We burn together and therefore we burn hotter. Everyone should find a friend or two that make you feel like you need to press closer to Jesus so you can be where they are. You be that friend to them.
